On March 9, 2024, at approximately 6:30 a.m., 33-year-old Jersey City resident Christopher Terrero Marte was fatally shot on Jordan Avenue near Mercer Street in the McGinley Square neighborhood. Two other men, aged 28 and 31, sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the incident. All three victims were transported by private vehicles to Jersey City Medical Center, where Marte was pronounced dead at 7:35 a.m.
