In a quiet Keyport, New Jersey neighborhood, a tragedy unfolded behind the closed doors of a home on Chingarora Avenue. On the morning of March 19, 2024, police officers arrived to conduct a wellness check. Inside, they made a grim discovery, finding the bodies of 37-year-old Ekaterina Kalyapina and her 39-year-old husband, Ilya Gagin. The initial shock and questions surrounding their untimely deaths would soon give way to a somber and definitive explanation from law enforcement.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office launched an immediate investigation into the deaths.
