On March 14, 2023, at approximately 1:11 a.m., Petersburg Police responded to a reported shooting at an apartment in the 1400 block of Pin Oaks Drive within the Pin Oaks Estates Subdivision. Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Javarious Doneil Desmore, known affectionately as "Var," deceased from apparent gunshot wounds inside the residence. Desmore was pronounced dead at the scene.
