On June 25, 2023, at approximately 3:35 p.m., Charlottesville Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting on the 200 block of South Street in Charlottesville, Virginia. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of 72-year-old William Albie "Bill" Barksdale III, a local resident.
