On August 1, 2023, a tragic incident occurred on Interstate 85 in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, resulting in the death of 19-year-old T'miya Murphy from South Chesterfield. The incident took place around 10:50 a.m. when Murphy was driving southbound on I-85 in a 2017 Kia Optima. As she was traveling, her vehicle was fired upon by a passing car.
