A 49-year-old man, Julius Brown, was the victim of a homicide in Richmond, Virginia. In the early morning hours of a Sunday in October 2023, police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Columbia Street following a report of a shooting.
Upon their arrival at 6:31 a.m., officers discovered Brown inside a pick-up truck. He was in the driver's seat and unresponsive, having sustained what was described as an apparent gunshot wound.
Medical personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Investigators determined that Brown had been driving the truck southbound on Columbia Street when the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree. The Richmond Police Department's investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is ongoing. Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with this case.
