On November 2, 2023, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Isle of Wight County sheriff's deputies responded to a reported shooting in the 12000 block of Smiths Neck Road in Carrollton, Virginia. Upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Marvin Guillaume-Sam of Flushing, New York, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, where he succumbed to his injuries.
