On November 19, 2023, at approximately 12:42 a.m., Fairfax County police responded to a shooting at the Falls Church Marriott Fairview Park hotel in Merrifield, Virginia. Upon arrival, officers discovered 44-year-old Charles Anthony Ashe Jr. near the elevators, suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel, already on-site for an unrelated call, provided immediate medical assistance.
