On December 4, 2023, at approximately 2:45 a.m., Suffolk Police responded to a report of a man with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the Heritage Acres Apartments, located in the 1000 block of Nansemond Parkway. Upon arrival, officers discovered 26-year-old Suffolk resident, De’Von Rashad Eason, near a black vehicle; he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation focused on the black vehicle, which had a smashed front windshield and apparent bullet holes in the door.
