On a Sunday morning in May, the quiet woods of Caroline County, Virginia, became the scene of a grim discovery. A citizen's 911 call on May 26, 2024, led deputies to a wooded area alongside Sparta Road in the Milford area. There, they found the body of 51-year-old Reginald Terrance Holmes of Richmond. An investigation by the Caroline County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, quickly determined that Holmes had died from several gunshot wounds.
