On June 5, 2024, at approximately 1:05 p.m., 15-year-old Isaac Ikier Cunningham was fatally shot while walking home from William Fleming High School in Roanoke, Virginia. The incident occurred near the Ferncliff Apartments in the 3500 block of Ferncliff Avenue NW. Emergency responders transported Cunningham to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
