On May 6, 2023, 18-year-old Genesys Elizah Rice was found deceased in her apartment at the Jasmine Cove complex in Simpsonville, South Carolina. The Greenville County Coroner's Office determined that she had died from a gunshot wound to the head, ruling her death a homicide.

In the days following the incident, Simpsonville police arrested 22-year-old Akevius Dayquan Lindsey in connection with Rice's death. Lindsey, who shared a child with Rice, was charged with murder, first-degree dom ...Read More
