On May 6, 2023, 18-year-old Genesys Elizah Rice was found deceased in her apartment at the Jasmine Cove complex in Simpsonville, South Carolina. The Greenville County Coroner's Office determined that she had died from a gunshot wound to the head, ruling her death a homicide.
