In the quiet community of Simpsonville, South Carolina, a dispute over contract work culminated in a tragic event that ended three lives. Alice Lollis Bouchillon, a 65-year-old White female, and her husband of 46 years, Ansel Leigh Bouchillon, were found deceased in their home on June 16, 2022. The couple, known for their kindness and community involvement, had been fatally shot multiple times, and their deaths were officially ruled as homicides.
The investigation into the double
homicide quickly identified a suspect: 57-year-old Jerry Willard Yancy. Yancy had been employed by the Bouchillons as a contractor, and a disagreement had arisen over the quality and completion of his work. It is believed that this dispute escalated, leading to the violent confrontation at the couple's residence on the evening of June 15, 2022. Reports suggest that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the events that transpired.
Following the discovery of the Bouchillons' bodies, law enforcement began a search for Yancy. He was soon located at a hotel in Greenville. As deputies attempted to make contact and apprehend him, they heard a single gunshot from within his room. Upon entering, they discovered that Yancy had taken his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office had been seeking Yancy on charges of two counts of murder, two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and one count of burglary. The case concluded with the death of the sole suspect, leaving a community to mourn the loss of a beloved couple.
