In the early hours of a Monday morning in Columbia, South Carolina, the life of 17-year-old Travis D. Jones Jr. was tragically cut short. On July 17, 2023, a cascade of gunfire erupted in the 4200 block of Wentworth Drive, near the intersection of Lorick Avenue. When Columbia Police Department officers arrived at the scene around 3:30 a.m., they discovered the young male victim, who was soon pronounced dead.
