On October 15, 2023, 21-year-old Jasmine Shantel Roach was fatally shot in a mass shooting incident on Quail Road in Barnwell, South Carolina. The shooting occurred shortly after midnight, resulting in Roach's death and injuries to six other individuals. Tragically, Roach was four months pregnant at the time of her death.
