Henrietta Creech, 77, a Black woman, was at home in Barnwell, South Carolina, when the quiet of the early morning broke. Sometime around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020, a family member called for help and told authorities that a sport utility vehicle had driven past her residence and gunfire erupted into the house. Creech lived along U.S. 278, near the intersection with South Carolina Highway 3, and the shots reached her inside.
