On January 18, 2024, 46-year-old Jamel Moss of Willington, South Carolina, tragically lost his life during an attempted armed robbery in McCormick. The incident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. on the 200 block of Sunset Drive, where Moss was attending a family gathering. Two unidentified individuals, dressed in black and wearing ski masks, approached the family and attempted to rob them at gunpoint.
