On the evening of February 16, 2024, 38-year-old Elijah Maurice Jones was fatally shot on Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina. Deputies from the Charleston County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting around 10 p.m. in the 6200 block of Maybank Highway, where they found Jones suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
