On April 10, 2024, at approximately 9:20 p.m., 35-year-old Corey Ryshad Wadsworth was fatally shot near the intersection of Wise Street and Benedict Street in Newberry, South Carolina. Responding officers from the Newberry Police Department found Wadsworth with an apparent gunshot wound; he was transported to Newberry County Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
