On a Saturday evening in Newberry, South Carolina, the life of 53-year-old Troy Leonard Sims, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On April 20, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., gunfire erupted near the intersection of Emory Street and Hunt Street.
