In the quiet town of Hartsville, South Carolina, the life of 57-year-old Anthony Hudson was abruptly ended on the evening of April 21, 2024. Responding to a distress call at approximately 8:30 p.m., Hartsville police officers arrived at a residence on Logan Avenue to find Hudson with a fatal gunshot wound. Despite prompt medical attention and being rushed to Carolina Pines hospital, his injuries proved to be too severe.
The day following the tragic incident, law enforcement officials
apprehended a suspect in connection with the shooting. Margie Lee Lighty, a 47-year-old woman, was taken into custody and subsequently faced charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Following her arrest, Lighty was booked into the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center, where she was ordered to be held without bond.
