In the early morning hours of May 18, 2024, a wave of violence shattered the quiet of a Walterboro, South Carolina community. Inside a home on Hayden Street, 43-year-old Alisha Gardner was found dead, the victim of a targeted shooting that also claimed the lives of two others. A devoted mother and grandmother, Alisha was known for her calm and composed nature, a rock for her family and friends who always put her children and granddaughter first.
Tragically, Alisha was not the only one to
lose her life in the violent attack. Her 2-year-old granddaughter, Asiyra Saige Cole, and a 49-year-old man, Harvell Breland, were also found deceased at the scene from gunshot wounds. The Colleton County Sheriff's Office swiftly launched an investigation, determining that the triple homicide was a deliberate and targeted act.
The investigation quickly gained momentum, leading to the arrest of 31-year-old Jameek Glover on June 4, 2024. Initially charged with three counts of accessory after the fact of murder, investigators alleged that Glover assisted the shooters by driving them away from the crime scene. As the case progressed, Glover's charges were upgraded to three counts of murder.
A second suspect, 23-year-old Justin Dupont of Walterboro, was arrested on June 18, 2024, and also charged with three counts of murder in connection with the killings. Despite these arrests, law enforcement officials believe that at least one other individual involved in the triple homicide remains at large. Both Glover and Dupont were denied bond and remain in custody as the investigation continues. The family, seeking justice for their loved ones, has offered a substantial reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the remaining suspect or suspects.
