On June 10, 2024, 25-year-old David Lamont Williams Jr. was fatally shot near a playground on South Street in Charleston, South Carolina. Charleston Police Department officers responded to the scene shortly after 11 a.m., discovering Williams with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at 11:09 a.m.
