In the summer of 2024, the life of 38-year-old Kasia Dierra Simmons was tragically cut short in Greenwood, South Carolina. On the evening of June 12th, her body was discovered on the side of Wilson Creek Road. Authorities from the Greenwood County Coroner's office responded to the scene at approximately 9:15 p.m., where they found that Simmons had sustained what appeared to be a fatal gunshot wound.
Her death was subsequently ruled a homicide, prompting an investigation by the Greenwood County Sheriff's Office.
Originally a resident of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Kasia was a mother to five children. The investigation into her death revealed that some of her young children were found walking alone, seeking help for their mother after the incident. Deputies learned that Simmons had been in the company of an unidentified man prior to the shooting. As of mid-June 2024, authorities had not yet made any arrests in connection with the case.
