In the early morning hours of December 28, 2024, the life of 23-year-old Nayeli Guerrero was tragically cut short in Greenwood, South Carolina. A Hispanic female known for her vibrant spirit, Guerrero was fatally shot on Sumter Street in an incident that has been ruled a homicide by the Greenwood County Coroner's Office. Responders who arrived at the scene around 1:40 a.m.
transported her to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The events leading up to the fatal shooting reportedly began with a heated argument between Guerrero and her 29-year-old boyfriend, Guillermo Hernandez Garcia. The altercation escalated to the point where Garcia is alleged to have shot Guerrero before fleeing the scene.
