On July 9, 2024, at approximately 10 p.m., 22-year-old Columbia residents Dominic Goodwin and Xavier Hopkins were fatally shot in a vehicle outside a home on Hickory Ridge Drive in Richland County, South Carolina. A third individual was found inside a nearby residence with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
