On September 17, 2024, 31-year-old Matthew Shane Baxley was found deceased at a residence on Highway 64 in Friendship, South Carolina, near Barnwell. The Barnwell County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Baxley with fatal injuries.
