On September 19, 2024, 23-year-old Nigel Malik Smith of Gray Court, South Carolina, was fatally shot on Georgia Acres Road in Gray Court. The Laurens County Coroner's Office confirmed his death, and the Laurens County Sheriff's Office identified 17-year-old Kamarius Lee Cunningham as the primary suspect, charging him with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
