On February 6, 2023, 17-year-old Jarkelvion Jermaine Carter was fatally shot on West Pearl Street in Grenada, Mississippi. The Grenada Police Department (GPD) responded to the scene and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the teenager's death.
