On February 17, 2023, 59-year-old Chris Eugene Boyce of Lakeland, Florida, was tragically killed in a mass shooting in Arkabutla, Mississippi. Boyce was sitting in the driver's seat of a pickup truck outside a convenience store when he was fatally shot. His brother, who was in the truck with him, managed to escape unharmed.
