On a Saturday night in the Homestead community just east of McComb, Mississippi, a dispute between two brothers ended in tragedy. Claude 'Bo' Wayne Rimes, a 63-year-old white male, was shot and killed on March 11, 2023, at his residence on Harrison Drive. Pike County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call regarding shots fired at the home around 9 p.m.
Upon their arrival, officers found Claude Rimes deceased in front of camper trailers located at the address.
The investigation that followed indicated that an argument between Claude and his brother, Bennie Rimes, had escalated into an exchange of gunfire. The altercation ultimately led to Claude's fatal injuries.
In connection with the shooting, authorities arrested Bennie Rimes, who was 60 years old at the time. He was taken into custody and booked into the Pike County Jail. Bennie Rimes was charged with second-degree murder for the death of his brother. Initially, he was held without bond, but it was later set at $50,000.
