On July 19, 2023, 40-year-old Christopher Dotson was fatally shot during a domestic dispute with his stepbrother, William Johnson, in Lula, Mississippi. The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Armistead Street, where deputies found Dotson deceased in the front yard from a gunshot wound.
William Johnson, aged 41, was present at the scene and was taken into custody without incident. He was subsequently charged with homicide and held at the Coahoma County Detention Center.
