In the late summer of 2023, the life of 28-year-old Melvin Thaggard Jr. was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. On Sunday, September 17th, in Meridian, Mississippi, Thaggard was fatally shot at the Magnolia Court Apartments, located at 1801 24th Street. The incident left the community seeking answers and law enforcement with a homicide to solve.
