On October 6, 2023, Larry Taylor, a 15-year-old from Canton, Mississippi, was fatally shot in an incident that has since garnered significant media attention. The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. on Frost Street, where police found Taylor with a gunshot wound below his armpit. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after the incident.
