On October 22, 2023, 32-year-old Hunter Douglas Dahlem was found deceased from a gunshot wound at the Ten-Tom Inn in Amory, Mississippi. Authorities responded to the scene shortly before 4:30 a.m.

The suspect, 19-year-old Andrew Isaac Gray of Aberdeen, Mississippi, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with Dahlem's death. Gray was taken into custody and held at the Monroe County Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing in Monroe County Justice Court.
