In the late hours of a Thursday night in South Clarksdale, the life of 25-year-old Aldrict Hill, Jr. was tragically cut short. On February 22, 2024, police responded to a call on the 2100 block of Center Street at approximately 10:12 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Hill had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. This marked the fifth homicide in Clarksdale for the year.
The investigation into Hill's death moved swiftly, with law enforcement agencies including the Clarksdale Police and Coahoma County Sheriff's Office collaborating on the case. Their combined efforts led to a significant development when a 17-year-old male juvenile was taken into custody and subsequently charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting. Authorities did not release the name of the teenage suspect.
