On April 21, 2024, 34-year-old Taboris Jefferson was fatally shot on Medgar Evers Boulevard near Coleman Avenue in Jackson, Mississippi. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
In the months following the incident, Jackson police conducted an investigation into Jefferson's death. On November 4, 2024, authorities announced the arrest of 37-year-old Benjamin Olowo-Ake, who was charged with murder in connection to the shooting.
