On June 24, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., 21-year-old D’Aaron Kortez Carter was fatally shot while seated in the rear passenger seat of a vehicle on Willie V. Crump Lane in Edwards, Mississippi. The vehicle was struck by multiple rounds fired by three individuals dressed in black, who were reportedly standing near the Edwards Head Start Center at the time of the shooting.
