On February 19, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Livonia, Michigan, involving two off-duty Detroit police officers. Maria Martin, a 22-year-old officer with the Detroit Police Department, was found dead in a home on the 16000 block of Farmington Road in Livonia. The incident was initially reported as a suspected murder-suicide.
