In the early hours of July 18, 2023, a trip to a party store in Livonia, Michigan, turned fatal for 27-year-old Markayla Sadler. An argument that began inside the store at approximately 12:53 a.m. quickly escalated and spilled out into the parking lot. The verbal dispute between Sadler and another woman, identified as 24-year-old Lania Julieah Conn of Detroit, turned into a physical altercation.
