In the early morning hours of June 17, 2023, the life of 28-year-old Arely Mejia-Hernandez was tragically cut short in Battle Creek, Michigan. A Hispanic female, she was discovered fatally shot inside her vehicle, which was found in the tree line at the edge of Riverside Park. Officers in the vicinity were drawn to the scene after hearing the sound of gunshots around 1:20 a.m. Despite the immediate arrival of medical assistance, Mejia-Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.
