On September 2, 2023, Michael Ronald Beck Jr., a 31-year-old resident of Monroe, Michigan, tragically lost his life during a violent carjacking incident. The event unfolded around 3:40 p.m. at the Highlander Market on East Front Street in Monroe. Beck and a 34-year-old companion were in a blue Ford F-150 parked outside the market when two suspects, who had just robbed the store, approached their vehicle.
