On September 14, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred outside Royal Liquor at 808 S Center Rd in Flint, Michigan, resulting in the deaths of 51-year-old Jabbar Brooks and 21-year-old Johnny Brown VI. The incident began with an argument between Brooks and Brown outside the store. During the confrontation, Brooks shot Brown, fatally wounding him.
