On the evening of September 19, 2023, Hassan Mahmoud Salami, a 29-year-old Lebanese American man, was fatally shot in what authorities have described as a random act of violence. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a sushi restaurant on Ford Road in East Dearborn, Michigan. Salami, the owner of Lama Flowers, was leaving the restaurant with his fiancée and walking towards his car when they were confronted by assailants.
