In the late evening hours of October 28, 2023, a 16-year-old female named Desiree Childs was walking with a friend near the intersection of South Johnson Street and Menominee Road in her hometown of Pontiac, Michigan. It was a seemingly ordinary night that turned tragic when the sound of gunfire erupted, forever altering the lives of many.
