In the midst of the holiday season, a tragic discovery cast a dark shadow over Flint, Michigan. On Christmas Eve of 2023, 17-year-old Timmy Joseph Hitsman II, a White male, was found deceased in an abandoned home on the city's northeast side. His body was discovered alongside his 15-year-old cousin, Logan Lane, shattering the peace of the festive period for their families.
The two teenagers had reportedly made plans to exchange Christmas gifts that day.
Both were on electronic tethers at the time and had received permission from their probation officers to meet. Investigators believe the cousins were shot sometime between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on December 24th. According to witness statements, it is thought that individuals approached the house and opened fire as the boys entered.
The violent deaths of Timmy and Logan sent ripples of grief and shock through their families and the wider Flint community. Timmy's mother, Julia Hitsman, expressed her profound sorrow, emphasizing that despite any troubles her son may have faced, he did not deserve such a violent and premature end to his life. The families are united in their quest for justice and have pleaded for anyone with information to come forward.
As of now, the double homicide remains unsolved, with no arrests having been made in connection with the case. The local authorities are actively investigating and have offered a reward of up to $2,500 for any information that leads to an arrest. The community is left to grapple with the senseless loss of two young lives as their families continue to hope for answers and closure.
