In the early morning hours of the Fourth of July, 2024, Jaret Mays, a 35-year-old man, was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Peachtree Apartments in Clinton Township, Michigan. Police responded to reports of shots fired around 11 a.m. and discovered Mays with multiple gunshot wounds, including one to the head.
Mays, a father of seven, was a multifaceted individual, described by his family as a man of many talents.
He was a nurse by trade, worked at Chrysler, and was an entrepreneur, running his own shoe cleaning business called 'SHOElution.' He was also an actor with roles in several movies filmed in Detroit. His family and friends remember him as a hardworking and kind-hearted person with a big heart.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and as of now, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made. Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting. The person who reported the shooting to the police did not see the suspect and could not provide a description.
