The incident occurred during a cousin's retirement party near the intersection of Beidler and Forest in Muskegon. Piggee was shot in the head following a dispute that erupted at the gathering.
Piggee's wife, Latina, who had been with him for 30 years, was by his side during his final moments. She described her husband as a loving person, father, grandfather, son, and husband.
