On October 9, 2024, Cynthia Platt, a 26-year-old armed security guard, was fatally shot while on duty at an industrial park off Monroe Boulevard on the north end of Taylor, Michigan. The tragic incident occurred late Wednesday night when Platt was shot with her own gun while working.
