In the early evening of January 18, 2023, a burst of gunfire shattered the cold air on the 1700 block of West Lexington Street in Baltimore, Maryland. When the echo of the shots faded, 30-year-old Cameron Bullock, a White male, was left suffering from gunshot wounds. Police and paramedics descended on the scene at approximately 5:43 p.m. and found Bullock critically injured.
He was rushed to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, but his life could not be saved, and he was pronounced dead a short time after arriving.
The shooting occurred within a Safe Streets catchment zone, an area specifically targeted by violence reduction initiatives, underscoring the persistent challenge of gun violence in the city. Homicide detectives from the Baltimore Police Department quickly took charge of the investigation into Bullock's murder.
